The Wheel
The Motivation and Engagement Wheel is a practical multi-factor approach to motivation and engagement.
It comprises 11 factors that are grouped under 4 themes (see figure to the right).
The Wheel and its factors are applicable in any performance setting - school, university/college, work, sport, and even the performing arts.
The Wheel comprises:
Positive Thoughts/Cognitions: Self-belief, Valuing, Learning Focus
Positive Behaviors: Planning, Task Management, Persistence
Negative Thoughts/Cognitions: Anxiety, Failure Avoidance, Uncertain Control
Negative Behaviors: Self-sabotage, Disengagement
